Summary | 0000979: Clarify Documentation of Max Wait Time Parameter
Description | Documentation is now: Max Wait Time = <time> The time specifies the maximum allowed time that a job may block waiting for a resource (such as waiting for a tape to be mounted, or waiting for the storage or file daemons to perform their duties), counted from the when the job starts, (not necessarily the same as when the job was scheduled). It should be clarified how the time in waiting state is counted, the term "counted from when the job start" could be misleading, because the relevant time counting only starts when the job gets in waiting state. It should also be mentioned that the time counting is reset to 0 when the job can continue before reaching the Max Wait Time, so in fact it refers to the maximum continuous time of the job in waiting state.

Isn't the purpose of the diagram below the configuration ? Or should we still rephrase the explanation |
|
Just modify documentation about the reset if job continue
Beware there's also the same parameter existing for Storage, which has a hard limits of 5 days.
