Summary | 0000658: download.bareos.org is missing Ubuntu 16.04 packages
Description | Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial) was released some time ago but download.bareos.org is still missing the "/bareos/release/latest/xUbuntu_16.04/" dir. Xenial has Glusterfs 3.7.x included so it would be nice you could build your bareos packages with GlusterFS support this time.

Just found the nightlies with GlusterFS support :-) http://download.bareos.org/bareos/experimental/nightly/xUbuntu_16.04/ When will 16.2 become stable? |
|
There won't be a new platform on 15.2 stable on bareos.org our plublishing policy is clear. We only publish the stable version one time. If you take a look at experimental you will see that 16.04 is there a supported platform including gluster and ceph support. http://download.bareos.org/bareos/experimental/nightly/xUbuntu_16.04/ 15.2.4 will be published to download.bareos.com including support for Ubuntu 16.04. download.bareos.org is also quite clear: Package Publishing Policy of the Bareos Project We publish binaries for the first version of each major release. Please follow our mailinglists and bugtracker for known issues. If you are looking for continuously maintained packages with quality assurance for your production, please visit www.bareos.com for more information about our subscription and support services. The latest status of the project is available in our nightly repo: http://download.bareos.org/bareos/experimental/nightly/ All source code including updates is always available on GitHub. |

Probably soon around 3 months.
Thanks for the infos. So when i want to use 15.2.4 on Xenial i have to have a subscription to access download.bareos.com or build the packages myself? |
|
Correct there won't be a new release of 15.2 to download.bareos.org unless there is a major security or data loss bug. And a new platform will certainly not be added. That will be available first on experimental and only on stable on the next maintenance release (e.g. 15.2.4 probably which is indeed only available on download.bareos.com) So its either pay a modest fee for the subscription or build packages yourself. |
