Summary | 0001552: bareos-dbcopy not packaged anymore
Description | Hi, I have an bareos director turning on a mysql database (debian 10). I have upgrade to last version and want to migrate my database to postgresql. In release 20, there was a binary called bareos-dbcopy that is no more packed in last release version. Where can i find this tool ? Is there an overway to migrate my database ? Thanks in advance. Why not just migrate the database to PostgreSQL with your existing version?
Hi Bruno. Thanks for answer. I'm not DBA, Don't know exatly what bareos-dbcopy tool did. If you have a quick guide howto proceed with that, i take. Kind regards Damien |

Not that hard to take bareos-20 documentation (see selector on the bottom menu) and have a look https://docs.bareos.org/bareos-20/man/bareos-dbcopy.html But you certainly want to setup correctly postgresql before starting to work with, as its default is using only 131MB of shared buffer ... So reading and understanding the https://docs.bareos.org/bareos-22/TasksAndConcepts/CatalogMaintenance.html is a good option too. |

Not a bug | |
My problem is here. I c'an't find bareos-dbcopy tool. Actually, i have restore my system from a backup take while bareos-dir running. bareaos-dir won't start with this error : Unable to load any shared library for libbareoscats-mysql.so |
|
Sorry still look like more a usage issue, than a bug. Bareos 22.1.0 with a correct configuration, can't produce that message because libbareoscats-mysql.so is not build nor packaged anymore. You will have to describe what you are trying to achieve. The sentence "Actually, i have restore my system from a backup take while bareos-dir running." doesn't give any clue about reproducible precise steps which would explain from where you started up to the problem you have, which doesn't seems related to the subject (dbcopy). Maybe you're looking for free help in which case the user mailing list will certainly more appropriate than here. Otherwise you can contact Bareos sales departement for a quote about paying support, and subscription binaries? see https://bareos.com/contact |

Bruno, Many thanks for the time et answer. I'll see with the user mailing list. Kind regards, |
