Summary0001506: Requirement that Job defintion must exist
Descriptionon Bareos upgrade, if the files job/BackupCatalog.conf, job/backup-bareos-fd.conf, jobdefs/DefaultJob.conf do not exist you automatically create these files. When bareos-dir is restarted, it fails because these files are not configured correctly. In an existing system where these are renamed to some other file names, bareos-dir fails to start. This means I must delete these files by hand each time an upgrade occurs. You should not be re-creating the default files on an upgrade that cause the bareos director to fail on startup. It is fine to create them on an initial setup.
Steps To ReproduceCreate a working bareos setup on a previous version of bareos 22 that successfully backups but do not have the files job/BackupCatalog.conf, job/backup-bareos-fd.conf, jobdefs/DefaultJob.conf defined in the configuration. Preform an upgrade. These files will be created and as a consequence cause the failure of bareos-dir to start. sudo -u bareos -t will show the failures.

Hello, we would like to invite you to use a recommended method instead fighting with your package manager.

If the file was missing, it add it (to repair) the default installation.
The recommandation with the default files is to always keep them and just commented everything in it, or blank them

Your package manager will never overwrite then the content (or the absence of content).

Regards.
