You need to either fix or give an error!

If you create a client in whose name a space is present, say "client 1.1", the director cannot connect to it. If you change the name to client-1.1 or client1.1, for example, the problem disappears. The other day I checked the availability of a client through a web interface.

What do you mean with "cannot connect to it"? What command did you issue? What error message did you see?

If you click on the Status button in the list of clients with a space in the name:

Connecting to Client server 28.121 at localhost:9102
Probing client protocol... (result will be saved until config reload)
Failed to connect to Client server 28.121.
