DescriptionWhen backing up a large group > 1000 Members I get following error we have only one group in LDAP with
more than 1000 Members:
Error: Read error on file @LDAP/dc=de/dc=elkb/ou=group/cn=g_internet/data.ldif. ERR=Erfolg
Releasing device "FileStorage" (/tank8/bareos/filepool01)

Insert of attributes batch table with 4218 entries start

Backup Ends with:

list files jobid=94 lists lot of ldap Entries groups and people
Steps To ReproduceTry to backup large LDAP Group
Ldap Server is OpenLdap running on Debian 9
Paket: slapd
Version: 2.4.44+dfsg-5+deb9u2

Bareos Version Director is latest 18.2.5

Bareos File Daemon on ldap02 Server is Version:
Paket: bareos-filedaemon
Version: 18.2.5-147.2

1000 objects is the default limit of OpenLDAP. You have to increase the server search limit to "unlimited", at least the hard limit, see


# should work:
sizelimit unlimited

# might work:
sizelimit size.soft=1000 size.hard=unlimited

Thanks, I have tested with:
olcSizeLimit size.soft=2000 size.hard=unlimited
olcSizeLimit size.soft=2000 size.hard=2000

got same error. ldapsearch from console works fine

How do I enable debug logging in ldap plugin ?
