Summary | 0000513: Failed full or diff job leads to next job run as incremental
Description | I had a number of jobs running when the SD hung for some reason, and the running jobs (diff/full/inc) failed halfway. After restarting the SD and the director, I chose to re-run those jobs manually. Running them, Bareos chose not to upgrade them to differential/full, but to run them incremental, even though the previous job had failed. The manual solution is to force a new diff/full, but it really looks like something is broken in there. What happens to a broken incremental backup? I suspect the inc chain will be broken…

If you run the jobs again, they will run as they are configured. Usually that is incremental. The solution for your problem are the configuration items Maximum Full Interval and Maximum Diff Interval (see http://doc.bareos.org/master/html/bareos-manual-main-reference.html#JobResource) |
